What is a reasonable adjustment (RA)?

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) define a reasonable adjustment as “An adjustment that appears to be ‘feasible’ or ‘plausible’.” Under the Equality Act (2010) candidates with disabilities or candidates who are neurodivergent have the right to request reasonable adjustments to all aspects of the workplace, including a recruitment process.

During a recruitment process, reasonable adjustments aim to remove or reduce any substantial disadvantage faced by a disabled or neurodivergent candidate, that wouldn’t be faced by a candidate who is non-disabled or neurotypical.

If you require a reasonable adjustment, please make sure you let your prospective employer know before you start the assessment.
